As I knelt down to pray today
I asked a thing or two.
I wanted to find out for sure
and lay my mind at ease,
if God had called my brother
and if his souls at peace.

He said our days are numbered,
we are given but a few.
He said that if I talked to you
to say these things are true.
"I sent him for a purpose
on that you can depend,
his work on earth is finished
but this is not the end.
I've brought him home to heal his hurts
and make his spirit new,
and when your days are over
he'll be waiting here for you".

Tell all those that loved him,
"I swung wide the gates of heaven
and led your brother through".
